Save The Porsche!
I went to Port Arthur, TX two years ago with the express purpose of seeing Janis Joplin's Porsche, which is in the city museum of Port Arthur, TX. I sure hope it's secured against the storm.

Plattenbau in East Berlin
East Berlin is filled with a certain type of building called the Plattenbau. It was the East Germans' answer to the housing problem after WWII. These Communist architectural "jewels" still stand and many have yet to be renovated. One of the few attractive features of these buildings is the view, as most of them are highrises. Let's take a tour through one and soak in the past.

Folsom Europe
It all started in SF. But now, Europe has its own Folsom Street Fair. The leather-clad community has come together for the second time and filled the streets with all the exotica and skin that you expect from Berlin.

Hindi Kreuzberg
As you've read in my posts, I love Kreuzberg. The world is at home here. Around the corner from my apartment is a well-visited Hindi temple. If I'm not mistaken, I think they're mostly from Sri Lanka. Every year they have a procession through the neighborhood and my corner of Kreuzberg becomes south Asian for a couple of hours. Here is this year's festivities.
