Berlin's new train station, supposedly the world's most modern, opened on May 26 with an incredible light and firework show. Truly spectacular. Afterwords, the 500,000 who attended were invited inside the new train station to wonder at this massive piece of architecture and technology.

Mayday in Berlin-Kreuzberg
Every May 1, Berlin-Kreuzberg gets together to...well, do all kinds of things. Some protest for workers' rights, some for Kurdish independence, some for womens' rights, some for foreigners' rights (Mayda3000 likes that!) and some just want to celebrate the community of Kreuzberg. For the last about five years, a street festival (of kinds) has emerged that bring all these groups together. It usually ends in stone throwing and some steam being blown off, but until then Viva Kreuzberg!
